CRIMINAL CONTEMPT - MASSENA - Village police charged Corbey A. Terrance, 23, of 14 Church St., Massena, with second-degree criminal contempt at 9:40 p.m. Monday. Terrance allegedly violated a stay away order of protection on Aug. 14 issued by Massena Village Justice Eric J. Gustafson on July 14. Terrance allegedly had contact with the protected party, a 16-year-old female, on Aug. 14 at the Massena Creative Playground.
The order of protection had been issued after Terrance had been charged with third-degree criminal sexual act. Terrance reportedly had sexual contact with the 16-year-old female on June 25. The charge alleged Terrance was 21 or older when he had sexual contact with a victim under 17 years of age. The teenager had told police investigators she had been dating Terrance since the fall of 2013 and acknowledged her parents were upset when they found out about the relationship due to the age difference.
He was arraigned by Mr. Gustafson late Monday night on the criminal contempt charge and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $500 cash or $1,000 bond.
