POTSDAM - Village police charged Melissa J. Kenwell, 32, of Carthage with driving while intoxicated and ticketed her for failure to obey a traffic control device and failure to keep right following a traffic stop at 11:59 p.m. Monday on Pierrepont Avenue.

Police said they made the stop after they observed Kenwell fail to obey a traffic control device on Park Street and then fail to keep right when she was travelling on Pierrepont Avenue.

She reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.17 percent. A blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent is considered proof of intoxication in the state.
